                 On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 15  institutions will be crowned with the "Dr. Ghazi Al Gosaibi Award for the Best Promising institution " awarded by Asharqia Chamber to a number of small and medium  institution under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Trade and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi.
    Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al Ataishan, Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, said that the award will be awarded in this version that has met all the requirements for winning the award. Education, training and consulting services).
    Al Ataishan explained that this award, which was launched by Asharqia Chamber years ago, aims to activate and activate the role played by small and medium  in institutions supporting and motivating the national economy in general and the economy of the Eastern Region in particular. To deliver better quality and more innovative performance, management and productivity, and thus play a greater role in many fields.
    The Chairman of the Chamber pointed  that the nominations for the award and then winning it are based on the provision of several requirements, including: matching the. establishment to the definition used by the Chamber for each sector, the existence of a clear address and address of the establishment within the Eastern Region, and that it is owned or managed by Saudi citizens, The project has been under construction for less than ten years, in addition to the availability of a commercial register or a license with the participation of the Chamber and all are valid .. Confirming that winning the award after providing these first requirements depends on the achievements of any participating in the competition achievements at various levels , The most prominent of which is the work environment in the establishment, and the polarization of Q As well as the added value achieved by the institution of the national economy such as excellence in the provision of the service or the product produced by this institution in the sector under which it is located.
    For his part, Secretary General of the Chamber Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Wabel said that in the light of past experiences of the award, we have witnessed a great interaction of small and medium institutions. We witnessed the emergence of many small and medium institutions that have taken a positive place in the market. At present, a keen interest in small and medium  institutions for the importance of these  institutions in the national economy.
    Al Wabel pointed that the award project is in line with a number of efforts and activities carried out by the Chamber to support the sector, namely the establishment of a specialized center under the name of Small and Medium Institutions Center and the launch of the Youth and Business Councils, The Small and Medium Institutions  Forum and the Small and Medium Institutions Forum, as well as a number of training programs on small  institutions creation and management.

    75 establishments have won the award throughout the last five sessions
     
    Dr. Ghazi Al Gosaibi award for the best promising institution is one of the initiatives of Asharqia Chamber to encourage the community of businessmen and a distinctive mechanism of support and care for small and medium institution. Since its beginning in 2005, it has supported about 75 promising institutions and established its presence in the local market in the Eastern Province , Has witnessed over the past 12 years a great interaction by the business community, government institutions.
    For the success of the idea and the prize project, and achieve its objectives, the Eastern Chamber with each session of the Award to form a neutral committee of seven members from within and outside the room, which includes a number of academics and specialists in the development of small and medium institutions, to achieve the greatest amount of Transparency and integrity in the selection of award winners,
    The role of the selection committee is to:
    1. The targeted sectors at the current session.
    2. Setting specific criteria for selecting winners and reviewing these criteria with each session.
    3. Sorting applications and verifying their suitability to the conditions set for participation.
    4. Selection of winners based on preplanned criteria.
    The goals and benefits of the award
    The award is awarded to the top fifteen promising institutions, with three of five sectors selected carefully by the selection committee with each award cycle. Within the framework of supporting small and medium institutions , the award aims to:
    • Activate the role played by small and medium institutions in supporting and  motivating the national economy in general and the economy of the Eastern region in particular.
    • Raising awareness among owners of small and medium institutions, and motivating them to provide better levels.
    • Enhancing the concept of  business pioneering in the Saudi investor.
    • Encouraging small and medium institutions to innovate and create.
    • Framing the concept of quality in small and medium institutions, and motivating them to reach the highest levels in this aspect.
    • Encouraging small and medium institutions to play a bigger role in establishing the concept of Saudization in the private sector.
    Accordingly, the winning enterprises receive a number of advantages, notably:
    Honoring the patron of the award ceremony.
    Intensive promotion of the facility and its owner through media coverage of the award and its ceremony.
    Notice and publicity of the name of the establishment in the press releases issued by the award.
    Announcement of the establishment in the Journal of Economics and Saudi Commerce magazine (issued by Asharqia Chamber).

     Sectors included:
    In each of the award sessions, the Award Committee, as already mentioned, will develop the necessary frameworks for the award, including the identification of a number of economic sectors, and allow its owners and representatives to compete in the competition to win this award, based on several criteria including the ability of institutions belonging to these Sectors, characterized by competencies and competitive advantage to enable them to grow more, and then open the space for them (and in front of their owners) to run for the award.
    The sectors covered by the award at its sixth session (2016) are:
    1. Industries and support services and light.
    2. Entertainment, tourism and restaurants.
    3. Business services and information technology.
    4. Educational, training and consulting services.
    5. Engineering design and decoration services.

    The award in the fifth cycle (2014) included a number of other sectors:
    1. Support and light industries.
    2. Contracting, maintenance and operation.
    3. Food and animal production.
    4. Sports and leisure.
    5. Business services.

    The sectors covered by the award in the fourth round (2012) are:
    1. Information technology.
    2. Entertainment and tourism services.
    3. Health services.
    4. Business services.
    5- Support and light industries.

    The sectors covered by the award in the third round (2010) are:
    1- Support industries for strategic sectors.
    2- Information and communication technology.
    3. Education, training and consulting.
    4- Travel, tourism and leisure.
    5 - decoration and interior and exterior design.

    While the sectors covered by the award in the second session (2008) are:
    1. Industrial services directed to the strategic sectors (oil, gas, water, electricity and petrochemicals).
    2- Engineering Industries.
    3. Wood industries.
    4- Plastic industries.
    5. Information and communication technology.

    The sectors covered by the award in the first round (2006) were:
    1- Restaurants.
    2. Construction and construction.
    3- Manufactured metal industries.
    Maintenance and industrial services.
    5- Food Industries Sector.

    Conditions for nomination:
    Candidates are selected through the availability of a set of data, the most important of which are the type of establishment, the name of the owner (s) of the establishment, the sub-sector in which it operates, the year in which the business started, the main products, capital amount, employment and Saudization.
    In order for an entity to qualify for the award competition, the following requirements should be met:
    • Conformity of the facility to the definition used by the room for each sector.
    • The location and address of the establishment within the Eastern Region.
    • Provide a valid trade record or license.
    • Valid room subscription.
    • Ownership of Saudi enterprises should be 100%
    • The project has been under operation for less than ten years.
    Evaluation Criteria:
    In 2005, the Award was approved by the Award Committee in the nomination and selection of the winning establishments. These standards are reviewed with each session and fall within the following ranges:
    1. Strategic goals:
     
    Including the objectives of the establishment and the timetable for their implementation, ways of reaching them and means of measuring those objectives.
    2- Market knowledge:
    Including the nature of the market currently targeted by the establishment, the products and services of the institutions, the methods used by the enterprise to maintain its customers,
    3. Human resources:
    These include methods for developing and adopting staff ideas and their participation in decisions making, staff assessment principles, career progression mechanisms, identification and implementation of staff training needs,
    4. Quality of performance:
    This standard refers to all methods of development of products and services and the internal work environment, and whether the establishment adopts new methods and systems of quality, and whether the establishment has international or local certificates in this regard.
    5. Information systems:
    The database includes customers, suppliers, competitors, employees, and how the computer system is in the operations of the facility.
    6- Application of Saudization:
    As Saudization is a major national project, differentiation and competitiveness are available to all. Accordingly, the work environment and programs of attracting and developing Saudi competencies are a key factor in winning this award.
    7. Creativity and innovation:
    This criterion includes what if the establishment has made a certain innovation or adopted an innovative idea that contributed to the development of the establishment and whether the establishment has improved a certain pattern that differs from traditional methods in the internal and external environment,

    Steps to win the Award:
    By the completion of the terms and procedures of participation for each institution, the Committee will evaluate the information available to it for each institution and determine the final number of establishments nominated for entry into the competition. This shall be done in several stages and stages:
    Phase 1 - Receiving applications
    Applications for establishments wishing to be nominated for the award will be received after completing the application form and the required papers through multiple transmission options.
    Phase 2- Studying applications
    The Prize Committee will study the applications and ensure that they conform to the criteria for nomination for the Prize, and then nominate a number of institutions in each sector for the final stage.
    Phase 3 - field visits
     
    At this stage, the members of the committee visit the facilities that have reached the final stage, and then announce the winners in each target sector.

    Closing ceremony:
    The Chamber will be honored at a ceremony of their own, organized by the Chamber under official patronage. The ceremony will be held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Trade and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, on Wednesday evening (27 / Septemper / 2017), which will highlight a number of other promising  institutions and honor them for their excellence in performance, giving and quality.

    They said that the field visits carried out within the evaluation procedures revealed to them a positive reality witnessed by the sector of small and medium institutions, promising a better future in this regard.
    They stressed the importance of the development and care of small and medium  institutions, as the mainstay of the economy, as confirmed by the vision of the Kingdom 2030 .. They commend the role of  Asharqia Chamber in this field.
    Great initiative and positive results:
    "This award is one of the great initiatives of Asharqia Chamber to honor the creativity in the Eastern Region in an effort to encourage the spirit of innovation and performance development in this highly important category in the national economy. The concept of quality and motivating those establishments to offer their products in a competitive manner better.
    Al Owaid pointed that to achieve the greatest transparency and integrity in the selection of the winners of the award, the Chamber management has formed a neutral committee of seven members, a mix of academics, businessmen and consultants specialized in the field of small and medium institutions with long experience and deep insight. Explaining that the performance and interaction of the members was highly professional with the requirements of the evaluation of the review and evaluation of the data provided to the field visits of the facilities applicable standards, which include the existence of clear strategic objectives and knowledge of the market, and a good policy for the development of human resources , The commitment to quality work, the availability of modern information systems, the application of the Saudization ratio, and the availability of a work environment conducive to creativity and innovation .. pointing that the Committee has renewed the weighted points for each of the evaluation criteria.
    Al Owaid praised the good efforts made by the members of the committee, which took long periods of visits and analysis and discussion and then reach the convictions about the points of evaluation for each candidate and finally determine the winning establishments.

    Dr. Saleh Al Shibl, member of the committee, said: Ghazi Al Gosaibi for the best promising institution is a reward award that is accomplished by small and medium  institution in various business sectors and offers us a beautiful model seeking business.
    He added that the award helps to raise the awareness of the establishments of the importance of strategic goals, quality of work, market knowledge, innovation and measurement of customer satisfaction and preservation. It also helps highlight the vital sectors to strengthen the national economy in general and the eastern region in particular.
    He added that it is an award that crowns our promising work and motivates young people, God willing, to innovate in business, which will promote the economy and create jobs for the future. He stressed that the award is not an arrival station but a starting point for continuous improvement and creativity.

    Al-Thawadi added: "As a committee, we have visited several field visits and met many of the establishments in the process of differentiation and sorting. The concept of continuous development and quality was one of the most important elements of winning the prize."
